Carol Sue Miller

Funeral services for Carol Sue Miller, 80, of Gilmer will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 30, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Doug Murphy conducting. Interment will follow at Kelsey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, at McWhorter Funeral Home. Sue was born on September 17, 1944, in Alva, Oklahoma to Byron Asberry Wade and Emma Smoot Dixon Wade, the youngest with five older brothers and passed from this life on November 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. Sue married Lew Miller, on October 15, 2022, in Gilmer, Texas. She was a beautician and instructor for many years. She worked in advertising and sales where she won many top awards. Her beautiful alto voice sang in many meetings with other family members through the years. Her love for flowers, plants and gardening brought her great joy. Family history was a passion, and she always had a story to tell of others gone before her. The importance of keeping family reunions going was a priority for her. Sue served in many capacities as a faithful leader and teacher as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Known by her friends and all she met for her bright smile and kindness. Known by her family as a strong woman, faithful wife and fiercely loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lew Miller; children, Jeff Engemann, Stephanie Murphy (Doug), Meridith Engemann Bunn (Jimmy), Jennifer Barton (Brian), Jason Engemann, Lisa Miller, Barbara Beckman, Tari Miller, Lorraine McKendrick, and Dale Robert McKendrick; brothers, Jerry Wade (Jane), and Russell Wade (Marie); 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; late husband, Dale McKendrick; and brothers, Delmar Wade, Lowell Wade (Donna), and Arnold Wade (Shirley). Pallbearers will be Jeff Engemann, Jason Engemann, Lew Miller, Brian Barton, Brandon Murphy, Elder Spencer Murphy, Tanner Engemann, Ricky Almaraz, and Tony Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Murphy, Daniel Murphy, Jimmy Bunn, Jacob Wright, Nick McCracken, Bret McKendrick, Devin McKendrick, and Dale Robert McKendrick.
