LeGrande Evan Bowers

LeGrande Evan Bowers was born December 3, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clovis Smith Bowers and Ernest Nathan Bowers. He has 7 siblings; 2 brothers and 5 sisters which he loved dearly. Although, LeGrande dropped out of school his senior year at Mesa High he could master any skill he desired or needed just by reading a manual or book. He was labeled "a Jack of all trades" and worked in many professions such as; crop dusting, dairy farming, mechanic, welder, dismantling, building, and running sawmills, and selling real estate. He met the love of his life Virginia "Gail" Buse, at a church dance and they were sealed for time and all eternity on June 17th 1964. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2011, he missed her everyday thereafter. LeGrande was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served valiantly in numerous positions throughout his life. He was a determined, hard-working, honest man who loved deeply and lived his life with integrity and faith. He passed away in the care of his loving family at the home of his eldest son in Surprise, AZ, Saturday, February 5, 2022. He will be missed by many, including the family he left behind; daughters; Tracy (Rick) Overcash of Everett, WA, Celeste (Oman) Crandell of Saint Johns, AZ, Andrea Bowers of Kelsey, TX; sons; Evan (Lynn) Bowers of Surprise, AZ, Craig Bowers of Mesa, AZ, Justin (Christy) Bowers of Georgetown, TX; his siblings Mel (Janet) Bowers of Heber, AZ, Stanley Bowers of Kelsey, TX, Kathy (Paul) Hughes of Heber. AZ, Connie Spencer of Kelsey, TX, Toni (Lon) Porter of Heber, AZ, Denise (Larry) Craig of Gilmer, TX, Donna (Keith) Bigler of Heber, AZ; 24 grandchildren, 11 great-granchildren, plus 2 on the way and numerous nieces and nephews. LeGrande was preceded in death by his parents; Clovis and Ernest Bowers; wife, Gail Bowers; Sister-in-law, Lana Bowers; and great-granddaughter, Liesl Crandell. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Kelsey Cemetery Heritage Center in Kelsey, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home.
