Memorial services for Niki Lynn Fields Wilson will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2026, in the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home. Niki was born on December 22, 1976, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and passed from this life on April 5, 2026. Niki loved to laugh and tell stories. And truthfully, the stories themselves might not always have been that funny—but the way she told them was everything. She would laugh all the way through, sometimes so hard she couldn’t even finish. And somehow, that made it even better. Being with her meant sharing in that joy, that laughter, and those little moments that only made sense to us. That’s how we will always remember her—full of life, full of laughter, and bringing light to everyone around her. Niki was well known in Gilmer, Texas. She dedicated over 20 years of her life to teaching, shaping young minds and pouring into others with the same love she gave so freely to her family. She was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and friend. Truly, to know her was to love her. Niki had always marched to the beat of her own drum. Even as a child, she would find joy and laughter in things no one else did—and that was just who she was. As a teenager, she was a perfectionist—her hair and her clothes always had to be just right. But when she became a mother, her world shifted. She became everything her children could have ever needed—caring, compassionate, strong, and endlessly proud. They were her heart. Her pride and joy. Niki was a go-getter. If she set her mind to something, it was going to happen. She was unique, and she built a different, special relationship with every person she encountered—and that is something we will always admire about her. She didn’t just touch hearts… she touched souls. So today, as we honor her memories, the joy she brought, and the blessing she was to all of us—we celebrate her life.
