Timothy Bain Thomas

Timothy Bain Thomas, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed from this life on May 30, 2023. He was born on September 12, 1963, in Gladewater, to Huey Paul Thomas and Frances Ann Thomas. After graduating from Ore City High School in the class of 1982, he embarked on a career as a General Maintenance Technician with LeBus Crosby Manufacturing, where he dedicated over thirty years of hard work until June 2018. In his free time, Tim pursued a variety of passions. He was an avid collector and had a special love for cars, particularly Corvettes. His enthusiasm for the outdoors led him to enjoy hunting and fishing, and he had a knack for adeptly fixing anything that came his way. Above all, Tim cherished his family and embraced every opportunity to show his love and generosity. He was known for being spontaneous and ever-willing to lend a helping hand. Tim's life was marked by his unwavering strength and resilience while battling diabetes. Despite the challenges he faced, he lived each day with an indomitable spirit. His untimely passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will forever be cherished. Tim is survived by his loving mother, Frances Thomas; his aunt Reta Ross; his brother and sister-in-law Taft Thomas and sister-in-law Kathleen Thomas, brother-in-law Rex Smith Jr; nieces and nephews: Heather Steelman and her husband Clint Steelman, Jessica Kelley and her husband Guy Kelley, Crystal Johnson and her husband Justin Johnson, and Maren, Laurel, and Kyle Thomas; great-nephews: Colton, Nolan, and Cayden Steelman, and Guy Kelley IV. He was preceded in death by his father Huey Thomas, his sister Tara Thomas Smith, as well as his paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Lillie Belle Thomas, and maternal grandparents, Lake and Linnie Bain In honoring Tim's life, a commemorative service will be held at McWhorter Funeral Home, in Gilmer, on Saturday, June 24th, at 4 pm to celebrate his memories and the impact he made on those around him.
