Miss Bailee Jordan Russell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Services for Bailee Jordan Russell, 17, of Hawkins will be held 11a.m. Friday June 10, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Gilmer. The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Thursday June 9, 2016 at Holly Lake Church of Christ, 3173 S. FM 2869 Hawkins, Texas 75765 under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home. Bailee was born September 14, 1998 in Tyler, TX to Tim and Jana Russell. She passed away June 7, 2016 following injuries and complications suffered from a car accident after being hit by a drunk driver. She was a Top Ten 2016 graduate of Harmony High School with plans to attend Harding University in the fall to become an English teacher and powerlifting coach. She was a member of the Holly Lake Church of Christ. She loved being a cheerleader and cheering for her beloved dad and her team on Friday nights. Bailee also participated in powerlifting, tennis, FCA, FFA, Yearbook Staff, One-Act Play, and Student Council, where she served as President. One of the duties as Student Council President was making the morning announcements. Each day, Bailee welcomed the high school with, “Good morning Harmony High School, it’s time for today’s announcements.” During her senior year, she was voted by the Harmony High School students as having the Best Hair, Best Smile, and being Most Respected. She also had the distinct honor as serving as Miss Harmony during this past year. While balancing all the many school activities during the last school year she also was a proud employee of Brookshires in Hawkins, and was going to enjoy her summer working at the pool in Holly Lake Ranch. Bailee enjoyed being goofy by singing and dancing with family and friends. To her family and friends, Bailee was beautiful and precious inside and out. Bailee was charming, creative, intelligent, talented, and her heart was beautiful. While she and her sister Macey were best friends, she and her mother, Jana, shared an unbreakable bond. She also loved the Lord very much. Miss Russell is survived by her parents, Tim and Jana Russell and sister, Macey. Grandparents, Bud and Freda Crosby; aunts: Susan Crosby, Amanda Johnson and husband Ryan; and Tammy Gilley and husband Randy. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bobbie Russell.
