Funeral Services for William Morris “Bill” Beavers, 78, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Lee Eliff conducting. Interment to follow at Glade Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, February 4, 2022 at McWhorter Funeral Home. Bill was born October 3, 1943, to Laverne and Kitty Blackard Beavers in Gilmer, Texas and passed from this life January 25, 2022. Bill married Ethel Lou Jones, April 30, 1965 in Greenville, Texas. He was a school teacher for 30 years before his retirement. Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Gilmer 2nd Ward. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lou Beavers; daughters, Patty Lou Beavers Grosso and her husband, Marc, and Gina Lea Beavers Underwood and her husband, Todd; daughter-in-law, Amanda Boyd Beavers; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Laverne Beavers; mother, Kitty Beavers Mings Speir; son, Ret. Lt. Col. Richard Beavers; step-fathers, Homer Mings and Cosby Speir; and his sister, Sue Beavers.
