Funeral services for John “Hop-a-Long” Huggins, 64, of Gilmer, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021, at McWhorter Funeral Home, with Bro. Dicky Mauk officiating. Interment to follow at Perryville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Saturday, September 11, 2021. John was born May 14, 1957, in Gilmer, Texas to J. W. and Lena B. Shirley Huggins and passed from this life September 6, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. John married Teresa Kuykendall, October 7, 1995, in Perryville, Texas. He worked as a truck driver for 47 years. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Teresa Huggins; daughters, Wendy Huggins and Angela Allen (Darius); brothers, Lindley Huggins, Bobby Huggins, and Gary Huggins; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristina Jones; sister, Rosemary Thompson; and by his brother, James Huggins. Pallbearers are Jerry Renfrow, Lyndon Jefferson, Tom Raines, Bo Jones, Clutch, and Roger Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Darius Allen, Aaron Campbell, Kevin Rogers, Tommy Wallis, and Justin Wallis.
