Richard Ray Hymer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Memorial Services for Richard Ray Hymer (Rosewood Ricky), 73, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 7, 2022, at McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm, prior to the service. Private interment will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. Richard was born April 11, 1949, to Francis Edward and Mary Francis Hill Hymer, in Gilmer, Texas and went to be with his Lord and Savior, August 1, 2022. Richard proudly served for over 24 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a major. He dedicated his service the past few years helping at the Upshur County Food Bank. Richard was a follower of Christ and committed to studying the word and sharing that with anyone he came into contact with. He loved everyone and even professedly love for those he didn’t even know. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Steven Hymer; favorite Grandson Grayson Hymer; daughter, Robin Hymer; brother, Mike Hymer and wife Dana Hymer; niece, Merdith Scudder, husband Christian Scudder and children Blair, Knox, Jude; nephew, Casey Hymer, wife Hilary Hymer and children Jackson and Hunter.
