Stanley Allen Jr.

Stanley Allen Jr., 79, of Gilmer, Texas went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 16, 2024. Stanley was born May 29, 1944, to the late Stanley Sylvan and Hazel Ruth (Hendrix) Allen in Gilmer, Texas. Stanley loved to serve his Lord and Savior and loved his church family as much. He served as a deacon of his church for many years. He loved to cook and camp with the youth group. He had a passion for helping others. He took pride in his family and loved to visit with his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Stanley always had a story to tell anyone who would sit and listen. He loved to be on a tractor working up a garden and taking care of his animals. He loved to ride horses with his family and friends, camping, and being outdoors. Stanley is survived by his wife, Doris Allen; they were married 59 years; children, Richard Allen, Roxanne and husband, Michael O’Connor, Robby and wife Cheryl Allen; sister, Margie and husband Terry Biggerstaff; grandchildren, Tony Allen, Clint and wife Madi Allen, Holly and husband Spencer Brewer, Cavin Taylor, Cheyanne Burck, Shelby O’Connor, Kaley and husband Denton Jackson, Ashley and husband Skyler Hefley, Amy Allen, Alisha Allen and fiancé Richard Walker; great-grandchildren, Jaidyn, Railynn, Barrett, Wyatt, Rhett, Harper, Shiloh, Abigail, honorary grandson Travis Coe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Sylvan and Hazel Allen; and son, Rodney Leon Allen. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nurse Shari and Jessica from PrimeCare Hospice that took such good care of Stanley and his family. We invite you to join our family as we remember and celebrate the life of Stanley “Pawpaw” at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Rosewood Baptist Church, under the direction of Brother Charles Johnson and Michael O’Connor.
