Memorial services for Theresa Ann Jones, 54, of Murphy, Texas, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Brother Luther Turner, officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am, prior to the service. Theresa Jones, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, passed away on June 17th, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and positivity. Born on March 23rd, 1969, in Longview, Texas, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Theresa's life journey was marked by significant milestones and cherished moments. Theresa was the cherished daughter of Ray Boyd, Gail Bradford, and her stepfather, Boyd "Crab" Bradford. She shared her childhood with her siblings, Roceta Anderson, Warren Smith, Paul Lilly, Theresa "Terri" Buchanan, and Shannon Boyd, who brought joy and companionship to her life. While attending Pinetree High School, Theresa's path led her to meet the love of her life, Kenna Jones, in November 1986 at a family barbecue. Their union would later be joined in matrimony on November 11, 1989 at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1987, Following her high school graduation, she attended East Texas Executive Secretary School in Dallas, Texas. Equipped with the skills and knowledge she gained, she quickly moved to Irvine, California, in 1988 to be with her fiance stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in El Toro, California. Theresa's thirst for knowledge and personal growth led her to academic achievements. She earned her associate's degree in Psychology at Irvine Valley College and later pursued further studies at the University of California, Irvine. In 1988, Theresa began her professional journey with the University of California, Irvine, where she served as the Department Manager of ESL. Her dedication and commitment to her work were evident as she devoted nearly 2 decades of her life to the institution before retiring. During her tenure, she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues, leaving a lasting impact on the community. Theresa's most cherished role was that of a mother. Together with Kenna, she welcomed two daughters, Taylor and Alanna, into the world. The love and joy she poured into their lives were immeasurable, and her daughters will forever carry her spirit and values. In 2006, Theresa relocated to Murphy, Texas, to be closer to her family. She dedicated 12 years of her life to Greenhill School as a Special Events Coordinator before working at The Da Vinci School and later joining the Dallas Foundation. Throughout her career, Theresa's passion for helping others and fostering community growth shone brightly. Theresa had a zest for life that was contagious. She loved family time at the beach, bonfires, and fierce volleyball matches amongst family and friends. She possessed a love for dancing and singing. Her impeccable taste in music, particularly Christian rap, showcased her vibrant spirit and love for melodies that touched the soul. As an avid foodie, exploring new cuisines and dining out brought immense joy to Theresa's life. Backyard Barbecues held a special place in her heart. Theresa loved cruise vacations with family and friends. Theresa's unwavering faith in God was an integral part of her life. She found solace and inspiration in verses that spoke of love and forgiveness. Love, forgiveness happiness, giving, and positive energy were pillars she lived by, and her radiant spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
